The Cavalier Oceanfront Resort has two unique restaurants on-site to choose from: Whether it's a hearty breakfast, room service, a sunset dinner or a catered event, the Cavalier Restaurant graciously offers a wide array of entrees and daily specials, local wines, and your favorite cocktails. Hours of Operation: Winter - 7:00 am till 10:00pm Summer - 7:00am till 11:00pm

For a change of pace Pezzulo's Ristorante, warm, friendly and inviting serves the finest in authentic Italian cuisine. Hours of Operation: Winter - 5:30pm till 9:00pm Summer - 5:30pm till 10:00pm

Watersports
Kayaking, surfing, and kite surfing are popular activities for our guests seeking a true ocean sport experience.  Local companies offer equipment rentals and instruction.  If you prefer warmer water, the Cavalier offers two year-round heated swimming pools and a spa.

Wine Tasting
Within a half hours drive of the Cavalier, you will find dozens of wineries offering tours and tasting.  Most tasting rooms are open from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm daily.  Rent a limo or join a wine tour so you can fully enjoy the experience.

Road Condition:
While scenic Highway 1 is a natural beauty, from time to time the road has temporary closures. The most current conditions of the road can be found here year-round along with directions if their is a detour.
Current Conditions: Highway 1 is open between San Simeon and Carmel.

Weather
Blessed with the ideal ocean side location the weather for San Simeon and the surrounding communities is moderate year round. Winter temperatures range from daily lows of the high 40s to daily highs in the 60s. Summer temperatures range from daily lows in the mid-50s to highs in the mid-70s. Appropriate Attire
Most of the residents of the Central Coast dress casually and comfortably. Light to medium weight clothes are sure to be plenty. Sweaters and light jackets are common for the evenings and possibly foggy mornings.

Elephant Seals
Seven miles north of the Cavalier, a well established rookery of Northern California Elephant Seals offers a close-up viewing of these massive mammals.  The best viewing is from November through March during the breeding and birthing season.  The Friends of the Elephant Seals has an information office located in the Cavalier Plaza.  For more information visit their website at www.elephantseal.org.
